Ok, finding time to keep up with this blog is harder than I thought - so, needless to say, I'm a little behind.
Let's see, the past few weeks have been absolutely crazy - let's go back to the end of July...
We did another week long session of swim lessons for all the boys, and I have to say - I'm amazed at how much they learned! Even Isaac (who's only 12 months old) was swimming under water and picking up diving toys! By the 3rd day, their teacher was having Connor and Sam jump off the diving board, into the deep end, and swim to the ladder to get out! This instructor was just amazing! It's such a relief to take them to the pool and know that they could save themselves if they had to, and besides that, they really enjoy it! I'm just sorry that summer is almost over!
After swim lessons, we had much to do in preparation for our family reunion. It was my Grandma's 85th birthday and my whole family came out from Texas to help celebrate. Even though it was mass chaos for MANY days, we all had such a great time together! The boys just loved being with all their cousins and it was just awesome how well the kids got along with one another. We also got a family portrait done with my parents and my siblings and their families - how often does that happen? I'll post that photo later...
So, after a few days of rest and recuperation, we jumped into last week buying school clothes and supplies, me having committee meetings, coffee with friends, and Parents/Teacher night at school. We all enjoyed a great weekend with Mike back in town doing yard work and just being together (he's traveling a TON right now, so weekends are quite precious to us).
And that brings us to this week... Connor and Sam started Pre-K yesterday. Sam is going M-W-F and Connor is going all week. I can't believe my baby is in school every day now! It's only until noon and he really loves it, but it just seems like yesterday we were reading "Goodnight Moon" as I was rocking him to sleep! Time really does fly by so fast. However, it is so neat to see them grow up and hear them chatter on about finger painting and what letter they learned about today. It's also really nice to have time for just Isaac and I to be together. Whether we're at the grocery store or at home playing blocks, that's time that I get to focus on just him - and I love that.
So, this is where we are now...two more weeks and Mike will be done travelling (hopefully). Birthday parties and weddings for the next 4 weekends and then we're hoping to slip away to the beach for a few days so the boys can see the ocean - that's all they've been talking about lately. And after that, only a few weeks until we head out to Texas for our 10 year high school reunion and a visit with family. Things never seems to slow down for long, but I guess that's expected. We are a very blessed family - busy or not.
